As followers of Christ, we walk a path of progression rather than a path of perfection. Some of us move along the path faster than others, but that shouldn’t be discouraging.

I think most of us would agree that life is busier than it’s ever been. With all the rushing and doing, it’s easy to grumble and complain. It can become the new norm if we’re not diligently seeking to live with a grateful heart.

There are steps The Healer would have us take to partner with Him in our recovery and restoration. Yes, sometimes God chooses to work a miracle in our lives, healing us immediately of the pain and completely shutting up our wounds for good. It can happen!
However, for many of us, spiritual healing will be a process. And, honestly, it wouldn’t be fair of me to tell you that these three steps are easy-peasy, that healing will happen overnight, or that you’ll never receive any more wounds.
That led to a life of fear and anxiety, defeat, and self-deprecation. Even though I knew God and His love for me, there was a disconnect. I didn’t link His love for me with His power that was made available to me.

Here are 10 verses that have helped me realize my true identity. They’ve been a comfort in times of heartache, given me courage on scary days, and revealed to me the affectionate nicknames my Father calls me.
Just before I tore the rest of what was left of my hair out of my aching head, my son asked, “Well, why do these fraction problems always make us simplify?”
I gave him some lame answer that I scraped together off the floor of my inner pit of despair: “Things are just easier to deal with when they’re in their simplest form. Just do it, already, man!”
Although I was familiar with this scripture, on this particular day, God used it to birth a life-changing moment. He revealed three truths to me that would help me see fear for what it really is—and how to fight it!
